crying while wearing whales...
...and other adventures on the isle of Nantucket.

We traveled together, the three of us, to see Gram this weekend and to introduce Lincoln to the ocean. He snacked on the ferry:

And watched a parade:

And giggled with Gram:

And ran with us on a windy, rainy Cisco beach:

And took a rather scream-y walk on Sanford Farm.
And met the all-talking-all-crawling Augustus and the quiet-yet-forceful Fiona.
And slept in a cottage on the park where his parents got married.
And, due to Iyanough engine trouble, flew on a tiny airplane:

And did surprisingly well during a total 14+ hours in the car (yes, really!).
All in the span of a few days.

finally, spring.
Lincoln is getting used to being outdoors these days. This weekend in the garden he lay, as an angel, among the spring tulips. Or perhaps John held him there and he frowned and cried, pausing just briefly as I snapped this photo.

Really he preferred to stand and have a look instead, as anyone would.

Letting him stand upright is the remedy for any impatient moment these days. He relishes the opportunity to lock his knees and survey the land from a few feet above ground. Add a mirror to the equation and he could stand and giggle at himself until the next nap (which, incidentally, he is now taking on a regular basis).

At Grandpop and Grandma Ewa's house
...for Easter.

The sun was shining pretty bright as Grandpop showed Linc the view out back. Wes, Anna and Rosie all got some cuddle time in too with their newest cousin. Rosie even started coming around to the idea that she is a big girl, not a baby, now. Linc took a nice nap in Aunt Catherine's old room as we all ate a delicious Ewa-prepared feast. A happy Easter indeed!
