first baths

Given by Grama. Zephyr was crying so hard, I didn't have the heart to snap a picture. But Orson didn't seem to mind so much. And, judging from the aroma of sour breastmilk,  spit-up and poop hanging about the place today, they were way overdue.

tired

When people ask how I'm doing--on the (lately) very  rare occasion that I actually speak with adult people--I say "O.K." And I AM doing ok. The babies are growing and healthy. I'm recovering well.   John and I have not yet been driven insane by the lack of sleep we are enduring ( thanks in part  to immense help from my mother).  And Lincoln hasn't mutinied yet. All in all, doing well,  doing the best we can, doing ok.

That said I wouldn't recommend this twin newborn thing to anyone. (See: my face, above.)

costumes continue

...today, Grama stands in as the construction paper seamstress. She handled the all the ordering around very well,  I must say.

(And yes, that IS James Mason as Captain Nemo on the table. Who else would Lincoln request to dress up as immediately after finishing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? Kirk Douglas? I think not.)

Grama

Grama is here for awhile. Hopefully a long while. (Because this is hard. And she is kind...and, obviously, a seasoned veteran.)

yes, there is a world out there

Lincoln watches the world go by this morning.

He rolled over at Grama and Grampa's house on Friday, front to back...and twice yesteday. But with the camera out today he declined, preferring instead to stand on the couch and gaze out the window (with a little help from Grama).

Full and happy (he). Tired and happy (me).

first visitors

Lots of folks made special trips to meet Lincoln.

Ritik visited in Feb. He cooked us tacos and I made him pose with Linc.

Jessica flies across the country to visit Linc, Jan 31.

Gram, Great Aunts Linda and Nancy, and Great Grandmother Snell come for a visit Jan 30. Three generations in this photo.

Uncle Dan, Aunt Deb and cousins Wesley, Anna and Rosemary came for a visit on Jan 16. They brought whiskey and lunch. John and Dan drained the booze while the rest of us ran around like crazy people.

Grampa thinks Linc has an 'interesting' face. Jan 12.

Emily flew across the country and held Linc on Jan 9.

Gram came to meet him on Jan 7 and got in some snuggling.

Uncle Pat, Aunt Sarah and cousin Julia (+1 unknown cousin) were happy to meet Linc too.

Grama was there in the hospital, and just up the street thereafter. Here to rock Linc to sleep on Jan 5.

GrandPop and Grandma Ewa, on Dec 31. One of them did most of the holding.

Uncle Pete, Aunts Maralene and Deanna and cousins Evie and Pete were there from the start. Here on Dec 30, our first day home, Evie and Lincoln get their first (of probably many) pictures taken together.
